Manchester United lost the Barclays Premier League title which they have held for the last few years last weekend. Going into the final day of the season United had to win and hope that Chelsea didn't win their match against Wigan.
United did comfortably beat Stoke City 4-0 at Old Trafford but it was all out of The Reds hands as Chelsea emphatically hammered Wigan 8-0 at Stamford Bridge.
To add even more insult to injury, star striker Wayne Rooney also lost out on the golden boot to Chelsea' Didier Drogba who scored a hat-trick in the win over Wigan. The two strikers were both on 26 goals apiece before the final match but Drogba eventualy won after a few tears on the park before he scored his hat-trick as Frank Lampard stopped him from taking a penalty.
The only thing to say for United is hard lines, there's always next year!

Sunderland 0 - 1 United
United kept the pressure on Chelsea with a fine 1-0 win over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. United knew nothing but a victory over the Black Cats would keep them in contention for the title going into the final game of the season after Chelsea had earlier on in the day ran out deserved winners in an impressive 2-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield.
The Reds were lucky enough to welcome back the impressive Wayne Rooney back to the starting eleven, as Rio Ferdinand, Owen Hargreaves and Ji-Sung Park returned to the bench.
Man United started the game brightly with early chances falling to Rooney and Berbatov but both failed to capitalise on some poor Sunderland defending. The game was passing by without much incident until the 28th minute when some slick one touch passing from Fletcher, Rooney and Berbatov set up the in form Nani in the box for him to fire a low shot with the outside of his right foot past Craig Gordon in the Sunderland goal. United finished off the first half in fairly impressive style but the scoreline remained 1-0.
The second half started much the same as the first with Sunderland not really troubling Manchester United at all. The best Man United managed was a few half chances for Patrice Evra and Dimitar Berbatov but none of them really troubled he Sunderland defence. There were another couple of chances that followed before had a decent shot well saved by Craig Gordon
Sunderland troubled Man United late on in injury time when Evra had to clear a chance off the line. A Sunderland goal at that stage would have been harsh on United considering their dominance in the match.
All that's left now is one more game where United welcome Stoke City to Old Trafford and Chelsea welcome Wigan to Stamford Bridge. United have to win and hope that Chelsea fail to beat Wigan to win the Premier League title.
It makes out for an interesting day!
